Subject: Re: Athlon 650 Date: Thu, 09 Nov 2000 21:59:40 -0500 From: Bill Talcott To: SeekingTao Yeah, it's a Retail chip, where it has the fansink pretty much permanently attached. I got it in January, and even have the original retail box with most of the shrinkwrap on it. =) It's one of the earlier ones, so it does have the 1/2 speed L2, as opposed to 2/5 or 1/3 or whatever they started using on the faster ones. I had it on a Gigabyte 7IX, and my KA7-100 when I built my parents a system with the 7IX. A friend got a good deal on an 800 from a guy at work, but didn't want to buy a SlotA board, so he bought a 1GHz T-bird and wants to sell the 800 to me (he let me use it since he didn't have a board). I messed with SoftFSB a bit on the KA7, but never went above 670 or so. I like to keep my stuff clean too, so there's just a tiny bit of dust at the bottom of the heatsink. No crazy dust creatures living in there or anything. =) http://brook.pricewatch.com/search/search.idq?ne=25074&l=25028&qc=%22ATHLON%22*+AND+%22650%22*+AND+%22RETAIL%22*&CiCodePage=Windows-1252&cr=athlon+650+retail I could probably ship it to you with everything I got in the box except the sticker (I don't think you'd want it after I ripped it off my case anyway) for $100. A 650 is better than what I am upgrading from. Do you have a cooler with it? How much for the chip/cooler(if you have one)? > I am interested. LMK
